Make sure you forward to your players the email from earlier this week with a personal insurance link specific to your team.

Scoring matches and reporting results
Having and using a scoreboard is mandatory - the Association recommends the Hart Sport scoreboard: https://www.hartsport.com.au/sport/cricket/cricket-accessories/hart-cricket-scoreboard

The winning captain is to text the Grade Coordinator in the format Team A X wickets/Y runs def Team B X wickets/Y runs as soon as the match is over - i.e. before leaving the ground. Always report actual wickets lost, not 'all out'.

New innings completion rules
To have matches finished by 6pm, we have new rules about completing innings. These are mandatory in all grades: https://actsocialcricket.com/special-rules-2023-24/. Know the rules to avoid being caught out.

No balls
No bouncers and no beamers - see Rule 16 of the Competition Rules (Competition Rules - ACT Social Cricket):

Any delivery, which after pitching, passes or would have passed over the chest of the striker standing at the crease is a no ball.
Any full-pitched delivery over the waist of the striker standing upright at the crease is a no-ball.
Rain
To find out if grounds are open, visit https://actsportsground.act.gov.au/home or call the Wet Weather Line 02 6207 5957.

If there has been rain but grounds are open captains make the call if it is safe to play. See Rules 26 and 27 of the Competition Rules (Competition Rules - ACT Social Cricket) for guidance.

Rescheduling: for wash outs
Where a match is washed out (i.e. no play at all due to weather) immediately text the Grade Coordinator once the decision to not play is made, and also indicate whether the result is a draw or a decision to reschedule.

If the decision is to reschedule, decide the new date as soon as possible and one captain is to email actsocialcricket@yahoo.com (with cc: the other captain). If captains want to play the following weekend, I need to know by the Monday night after the washout.

Rescheduling: for convenience
Captains by mutual agreement can request the Association to reschedule any match. If captains agree to change a date, one of the captains needs to send an email to actsocialcricket@yahoo.com (with cc: the other captain) stating which match is being moved to what new date. I will do my best to keep the match in the same zone (north, central or south) as the original fixture, subject to what is available on the new date.

I need to know at least 4 business days before the original fixture so I can cancel the booking and use the booking credit toward the new agreed date.

Forfeiting: call the other captain before Sunday
If you cannot get a team together and seeking a reschedule isn't an option ***call*** the other captain directly and let them know. Don't do this just by text or email and don't leave this until Sunday morning. Let the Grade Coordinator know after the forfeit is confirmed.
