Match Report - Anothery victory!

05 Dec 2016

Bears,

Just a quick report this week. Highlights were:

- A successful return by Pope, although he was immediately greeted by #thecurse: getting out on his 22nd delivery and falling when the team total was 22.

- After a number of near misses, Azz finally got his maiden Sunday Social 50 for the Bears and went on to make 78.... Or 100 minus 22...

- Spooner had to put up with numerous grumblings from GT about being demoted in the order. I guess that's the bad thing about watching a century partnership between Azz & Radico

- Radico chalked up his 3rd 50 (or 100 avoidance) with 83

- Dave (who didn't grumble about his demotion to the middle order) chipped in with an unbeaten 27.

- One of the King Browns showed that a big Saturday night, a hot Sunday afternoon and no water is not a very good combination

- Tijo was quite keen for to have a hit, despite being listed at #9, he was padded up from about the 10th over on. Unfortunately, he didn't get a hit and then copped the brunt of the damage from the strike King Brown batter.

- Another great display in the field with by the Bears with a number of good catches (including 2 from Azz) and not a single drop

- Love Muscle & Azz were both on hat-tricks. Seriously, Azz are you playing for the Kiwis tomorrow?

- Sha'neo produced a double wicket maiden

- A big thank you to Justin Fuller (or Puller as the scorebook reads) for filling in at the last moment. Hopefully, we'll see him on the park for the Bears again in the future. Also, to Marty for playing with a 'bunged' knee after some miscommunication between the captains and him!

Southside captain Gribbs will be naming the team for our final game before Xmas tomorrow. Make sure you update your availability and don't get forget the Beary Xmas at Rose Cottage on the 17th.
