Chook E Bet Bearlow odds

17 Apr 2012

Bears,

The yearly look at whose who in the Bearlow Zoo has arrived. Hot off Chook E Bet's international sports underwriter's desk. Note markets may and will flucuate, so keep an eye on your email box for late changes.

Hot Pants – Evens
Short priced favourite after a couple of stand out performances as captain. Was rumoured to be top of the list to replace Ricky Ponting but rumours surfaced of a naked late night encounter with a domestic pussy were too much for the ACB.

Flowers 3/1  - Talent galore and some of it was on show this year. Some great performances with the bat and he chimed in with his first wicket since season one , which is bound to poll him a shit load of votes. Will go close on that wicket alone but may just fall short.

Damo 7/2 – A stellar season behind the stumps and showed early form with the bat. Unlucky not to be given a bowl all season, but he still remained cuddly with the captain. A Season of high drama with the PBCC wicky announcing his engagement via Sunrise Entertainment reporter Nelson Aspen. Highly rated as is his chance to win the Bearlow.

Radic- 5/1  - Solid with bat and ball. What seems to be a severe lack in judgment , Radico actually has talent and therefore should be disqualified. The Senior Bear Council thought otherwise and based on that , he is an excellent each way bet.

Chris Judd – 5/1 Never played a game but just like in the AFL , the pundits might be blind to the cheap possession and protected free kicks he gets. Likely to win.

Azz 5/1- perennial crowd favourite. Always picks up votes and a strong start to the season will see him leading out early. Embroiled in a late season email scandal which will hurt his votes. Will he have the runs on the board to sustain the momentum needed to secure victory?

Drady 10/1 - The 2009/10 Bearlow medalist has had a solid year and will draw votes from the goody two shoes element with his ‘apologies in advance’ and all round mr nice guy persona. Odds may come in closer towards Bearlow night.

Rocket 15/1 – There has been large money plunged on Rocket after a late run of bringing the onions to the games. Will poll for his batting and BBQ cooking skills and like Chook playing under the captaincy of Azz, had a very warm shoulder all year. Could be the roughy in a well paying trifecta!

Toofy 15/1 – Played well for the part of the season he was available. Early season unavailability will hurt him considerably. May pick up the odd ‘3’ late in the year to finish in the 10.

Phantom - 20/1 A good year from the NSW Cricket Board member. Would certainly be polling the ‘1’ votes from many bears but the question is will he pick up enough 3 votes? Certainly pushed his case in the Grand Final , but would be an outside chance at best.

Spetsy 20/1 A torrid year with injuries. A Broken nose kept him out of Cleo’s Bachelor of the Year, infected sinus kept him out of X Factor, the theft of his beloved Massey Ferguson kept him out of the Canberra and district annual tractor pull and to top it all off , a Hairline fracture of the penis, commonly known as a ‘shoulder injury’ left him well short of match practice heading into the finals. The 40 yo will poll votes, after scoring some runs but should consider auditioning again for x factor.

Chook 25/1– Was hoping to start with a bang but fizzled to be dropped down the order, and sometimes to the bench. The reigning Bearlow medalist is unlikely to poll well given solid performances by others. He is not helped by the unwritten rule of never allowing a bear to win 2 in a row….

Buttsy 25/1 – Form was hot and cold but starred in a couple of games. Instrumental in breaking partnerships throughout the season . I have a feeling he will poll but just how many is unknown.

Andy –25/1 another to suffer at the hands of unavailability. Was strong in the games he played and will take votes of some contenders. Looking forward to seeing Andy play a big part in next year’s Bearlow

Spooner – 33/1 Fast and intimidating were two words Pommie did not use to describe Spooner’s bowling but once he discovered the secret was wearing the sunnies , he blossomed. Will be looking forward to a big 2012/13 when he will be thrown the pill more frequently (captain decision pending). Just a warm up for next year.

Pope 33/1 Showed some great energy late in the season , noticed by more than the average punter. Probably did not play enough to warrant being a threat but like last season , will poll well in some games.

Pommie 50/1 First season in the big league after talent scout secured his services. Talent scout has since been fired , however Pommie has proved to be a great fit in the PBCC Cyan and Silver. His best performance of the season came on Grand Final day , with a boonie like performance in the crowd. No chance.

Mike – 100/1 Another stifled by the ball n chain ( may not actually be true), he was not able to get on the paddock, but with another baby sue soon , he will help keep the club alive when we all retire at 69. (news in the baby was born)

Dickie – 100/1 Injured early. Found form and wasn’t bowling schlong hops. He seemingly was about to capitalize when others cocked up but his knee was left swollen and stiffy. There was some conspiracy theorists saying he was 'knob'led. Willy return next year ???

Boxxy – 200/1 Nipple balls, scratching ones nads, threatening to hump someone…nothing seemed to work for Boxxy . Next season

Tim – 200/1 Dr Bradley was awesome in his first game showing plenty of patients (sic.) but his availability stopped was could have been a huge year.

Gribbs – 500/1 Played very few games but hit a six…and didn’t drop any catches…considered a great season by the heavy hitting tail ender

Stonzy – 750/1 The keenest man to never string two games together. Stonzy was looking forward to playing once he had weekends off but a series of unfortunate events meant he couldn’t…maybe he shall be called Lemony Snicket Bear?

Rest 1000/1 Not even BBQ skills , drinks running or turning up will go in other Bears favour
