Bears,

The Bears are finals bound on the Northside following our victory over The Nooks on Sunday.

Some of the highlights of the day were:

·         A pre-match call from Gribbs debating whether or not he needed to go via the Colonel for some nuggets.

·         The Bears almost winning without setting foot on the park as The Nooks only had 4 players 15 minutes after the match had been scheduled to start. They were running that late even Magneto turned up before all of them.

·         A true team performance in the field, with everyone claiming a wicket or a catch – a shout out to Dan who was the only Bear to claim both a wicket and a catch.

·         Spooner getting a wicket via a Spooned shot.

·         Marty providing ‘colour commentary’ as he ran around to take a classic catch

·         Drady being ‘dragged’ following a double-wicket maiden

·         Once again, Pat upstaging his younger team mates with an inspiring performance in the team. To quote GT ‘he would have been a cat in the field in his younger days’.

·         Gribbs getting mid-match colonel but having to call on assistance from Magneto and Spooner to polish off the 24 nuggets.

·         JJ copping an absolute serve from the opposition after being dismissed for a duck

·         Love Muscle avoiding the curse with top score and best figures in his 22^nd match

·         A swashbuckling cameo from DB getting us within one shot of victory

·         Marty hitting the winning runs first ball he faced with a 6.

We have secured our finals spot with one match still remaining on the 19^th against Gentlemen’s CC, who are also potentially going to be our semi-final opponent depending on how their match against the Tigers went on the weekend.

Gribbs will be naming the team for our final Southside clash (and allegedly, his last game as captain) later today – make sure your availability is up-to-date!
